Uses of BlackBerry PIN

BlackBerry PIN is one of the advantages of BlackBerry smartphone. It is eight hexadecimal numbers with which a BlackBerry user can be identified. This personal identification number is assigned to each BlackBerry phone and it not expected to changed or modified.

Research In Motion now BlackBerry announced in September, 2012 that the BlackBerry PIN will be replaced with BlackBerry user ID in 2013 with the launch of BlackBerry10 platform.

What are the functions of the BlackBerry PIN?

1.     Use for BlackBerry Messenger (BBM)

BlackBerry Messenger is a platform use for instant messaging amongst the BlackBerry phone users. The BlackBerry PIN is required in order to Ping an individual user. This service is different from conventional email messaging; this is routed through the BlackBerry global infrastructure (BlackBerry Enterprise Server), the BES is known as a service that can only identify the PIN.

BlackBerry smartphones are encrypted and secured. The PIN plays a very vital role in terms of BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) and Blackberry Enterprise server synchronization (BES). This service will be customized to the particular BlackBerry PIN if they are connected.

This can also store various contacts such as instant messaging, email messaging, phone book etc.
