Complete Guide on How to Install/Upgrade a Back Berry Operating System (OS)

This is a ways how you can install or upgrade your BlackBerry operating system easily. This simple step is universal method which means that you can perform this tutorial on different BlackBerry phones.

Your BlackBerry phone Operating System may be out-of-date without notice.

Follow the guide below to install/upgrade your BlackBerry Operating System

Download and install this software onto your computer.
2.   BlackBerry Operating System (Choose your particular wireless carrier and blackberry model from the website).
3.     BBSAK (This software is trusted, not an official software of BlackBerry).
4.     After you had installed this software to your computer.
5.      Connect your BlackBerry phone to your computer with your BlackBerry USB cord, and double click on BBSAK. This program will automatically detect your BlackBerry phone.
6.     Click on “Backup Apps” button to backup all your third party applications on your BlackBerry.  This process will take some minutes to the complete, wait until the backup finished and click on “OK” don’t forget to exit the program.
7.     Launch BlackBerry Desktop Software. Click on “Device” and select “Backup”. The software will back up your contacts, calendar, service books and BBM contact list. You can also backup the entire phone. Once the backup is completed, exit the program. Make sure your BlackBerry Desktop Software is closed.
8.     Re-launch BBSAK on your computer desktop, click on “wipe device” this option will erase everything on your BlackBerry phone. Note: once the wiping process is completed, the BlackBerry phone will restart itself. After restart, the phone may display “507 errors” don’t be panics, this normal.
9.     This step is very important; locate these files on your computer: C:/program files/common files/research in motion/apploader. Delete file named “vendor” in the folder. For window 7 and 8, you will see two vendor files on your computer. Open your local disk “C” or “D” derives. Click on “program files” (x64) or (x86) folder => “Common files”  =>  “Research In Motion”  =>  “AppLoader” find and delete these vendor files. Make sure you delete those files to avoid damage. Double click on “Loader”.
10.                         Follow the instructions on the program and click “Next” few minutes later, the window will start the Operating System installation to your connected Blackberry phone. Kindly note: Do not disconnect your phone during this process until the window display a successful message “your device’s software has been updated successfully”.
11.                         By now, your BlackBerry has been upgraded, restore your third party software back to your phone from the backed up files.

You can perform this process in all type of Blackberry phones.

Notes:
BlackBerry Desktop Software
You can also use your Blackberry phone as modem through your BlackBerry Desktop Software. Connect your BlackBerry phone and Click on “Tools” go to “Mobile Internet Settings” and select or add your network profile settings and click on “Start Mobile Internet”.  BlackBerry Desktop Software can also do the following things: Backup and restore your data, install or delete applications, synchronize data, add pictures, video and mp3 file through the application to your BlackBerry Phone.

Things you can do with this program: Backup/restore third party applications, wipe device, load operating system, set your phone to factory setting, check for update, screenshot your phone screen from the program etc.
